1. Overview
GlitchRealm is currently a free-to-play platform. This Refund Policy outlines future payment and refund procedures if paid features, premium content, or in-game purchases are introduced.
2. Current Service Model
As of the effective date of this policy, GlitchRealm offers:
- Free access to all games, features, and community tools
- No subscription fees or mandatory payments
- Voluntary donations accepted via Donation Page (non-refundable; see Donation Policy)
3. Future Paid Features
If GlitchRealm introduces paid features, they may include:
- Premium game downloads or exclusive content
- Subscription tiers with enhanced features (ad-free experience, cloud saves, early access)
- In-game purchases (cosmetics, DLC, expansions)
- Developer tools or verified creator badges (paid verification)
- Merchandise, physical goods, or branded items
This Refund Policy will apply to all paid transactions once implemented.
4. Refund Eligibility
Refunds will be considered under the following conditions:
Eligible for Refund
- Technical Issues: Product is broken, unusable, or fails to work as described
- Duplicate Charges: You were charged multiple times for the same purchase
- Unauthorized Charges: Payment was made without your consent (fraud, account compromise)
- Non-Delivery: Purchased content was not delivered to your account within 48 hours
- Cancellation Within 14 Days: Subscription or purchase made within 14 days (Canadian and EU consumer rights)
NOT Eligible for Refund
- Voluntary donations (see Donation Policy)
- Digital content already downloaded or accessed
- Purchases made more than 30 days ago (except where legally required)
- Refunds requested due to buyer's remorse, change of mind, or dissatisfaction with gameplay
- Purchases made using third-party payment processors (refunds subject to their policies)
- Account termination due to Terms of Service violations
5. Refund Request Process
To request a refund, follow these steps:
- Contact Support: Email refunds@glitchrealm.ca with your request
- Provide Details: Include order ID, payment method, purchase date, and reason for refund
- Await Review: Refund requests will be reviewed within 5-7 business days
- Receive Decision: You will receive an email confirming approval or denial
- Processing Time: Approved refunds will be processed within 7-14 business days
6. Refund Processing
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method:
- Credit/Debit Cards: Refunds appear within 5-10 business days (subject to bank processing times)
- PayPal/Digital Wallets: Refunds appear within 3-5 business days
- Cryptocurrency: Refunds may not be available due to blockchain irreversibility (reviewed case-by-case)
- Gift Cards/Store Credit: Refunds issued as account credit only (non-transferable)
7. Subscription Cancellations
If subscription services are introduced:
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings
- Access: You retain access to premium features until the end of the current billing period
- No Prorated Refunds: Cancellations do not entitle you to a prorated refund for unused time
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
- Free Trials: If you cancel during a free trial, no charges will be applied
8. Payment Processors
GlitchRealm may use third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Square). These processors have their own refund policies and terms:
GlitchRealm is not responsible for refund denials or delays caused by third-party processors.
9. Chargebacks and Disputes
If you file a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank/card issuer:
- Your account may be suspended or terminated pending investigation
- Access to purchased content may be revoked
- GlitchRealm may dispute the chargeback if the purchase was legitimate
- Fraudulent chargebacks may result in permanent account bans
Please contact us directly before filing a chargeback to resolve the issue amicably.
10. Consumer Rights
This Refund Policy does not override your statutory consumer rights under Canadian, EU, or other applicable laws. If you are located in a jurisdiction with stronger consumer protections, those rights apply.
- Canada: Consumer protection laws vary by province (e.g., Alberta Consumer Protection Act)
- EU/EEA: 14-day withdrawal period for digital content (unless you waive this right by downloading/accessing content)
- California: California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) rights apply
11. Changes to This Policy
GlitchRealm may update this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of paid features after changes constitutes acceptance.
